The Making of Grand Brut Perrier-Jouët Champagne

The Grand Brut cuvée is the result of a blend of 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Meunier, and 20% Chardonnay. These three iconic grape varieties of Champagne come together to create a rich and balanced champagne.

To ensure a consistent style, the Cellar Master, Séverine Frerson, carefully selects around fifty crus from the best terroirs of the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne, and the Côte des Blancs. Up to 15% reserve wines are integrated into the blend to add complexity and depth.

With a dosage of 8 to 10 g/l, the Grand Brut offers a subtle sweetness. Aged for at least three years in the historic cellars of Perrier-Jouët, this champagne reaches perfect maturity while preserving great freshness.

Historical Heritage

Introduced in 1846, the Grand Brut was the first champagne cuvée to significantly reduce its sugar dosage to meet the preferences of British enthusiasts. This innovation defined the "Brut" category as we know it today.
