For four generations, the Maison Pehu Simonet has been established in Verzenay in the Montagne de Reims. David Pehu is now at the helm of a 7.5-hectare vineyard, primarily Grand Cru, which he works in a respectful and reasoned manner. He perpetuates tradition by conducting vinification without malolactic fermentation to preserve the natural freshness of the wines. Ripe fruits and precise dosage contribute to the balance of Pehu Simonet cuvées. They are distinguished by their elegance and structure.
The Face Nord Brut cuvée is a faithful expression of the personality of the Grand Crus from the northern slope of the Montagne de Reims. This blend of 80% base wine with 20% reserve wine from a solera started in 2005 is composed of 75% Pinot Noir from Verzenay Grand Cru, Verzy Grand Cru, and Sillery, and 25% Chardonnay from Verzenay Grand Cru. A blend reproduced identically with the addition of red wine in its rosé version with the Face Nord Rosé cuvée. David Pehu has also created a collection of "photographies" cuvées that perfectly retranscribe a terroir, a parcel, a vintage, and a millesime.
