For four generations, Maison Pehu Simonet has been based in Verzenay in the Montagne de Reims. David Pehu now heads up a 7.5-hectare vineyard, mainly comprising Grand Cru vineyards, which he cultivates using respectful and sustainable methods. He continues the tradition by vinifying without malolactic fermentation in order to preserve the natural freshness of the wines. Ripe fruit and precise dosage contribute to the balance of Pehu Simonet cuvées. They are distinguished by their elegance and structure.
The Cuvée Face Nord Brut is a faithful expression of the personality of the Grand Crus on the northern slope of the Montagne de Reims. This blend of 80% base wine and 20% reserve wine from a solera started in 2005 is composed of 75% Pinot Noir from Verzenay Grand Cru, Verzy Grand Cru and Sillery, and 25% Chardonnay from Verzenay Grand Cru. This blend is reproduced identically with the addition of red wine in its rosé version, the Cuvée Face Nord Rosé. David Pehu has also created a collection of "photographic" cuvées that perfectly capture a terroir, a plot, a grape variety, and a vintage.
