Brut Rosé from the house of Mumm is a champagne which develops around notes of red fruits and citrus, with elegance and gourmandize.
This fresh, bright cuvee will go well with red fruit desserts, but more surprisingly is also a great marriage with grilled langoustines or marinated salmon. The first rosé under the name Royal Rosé was produced by Mumm in 1860.
A century later, René Lalou, the President, was looking for a symbol to represent this cuvee, and he commissioned his friend the Japanese painter Léonard Foujita to design a rose in water colors; a rose which still figures today on the capsules.
Mumm Brut Rosé is based on the same blend as the Cordon Rouge, the difference being the addition of 12 to 14% of red wine from Champagne.
It is doted with the palest of salmon pink robes with here and there a few orange gleams.
The nose is a mingling of wild strawberry, black cherry and pink grapefruit, which veers towards notes of vanilla and honey after a few moments.
And finally the mouth filling palate of this Brut Rosé expresses with verve a range of red fruit notes, enhanced by a touch of acidity.
A champagne full of freshness, finesse and subtlety.
