Moët & Chandon's Grand Vintage Rosé 2006 is the 40th rosé vintage from the most famous of champagne houses. It's a generous, gourmet cuvée, with aromas of ripe fruit.
2006 was marked by a cold winter, a spring with a few frosts and a summer of contrasts, with a very hot July and a cool, rainy August. Fortunately, September was very clement, warm and dry, offering a pleasant harvest and grapes of excellent ripeness.
The quality of the wines is reminiscent of the exceptional 2002 vintage, with a perfect balance between acidity and excess.
Moët & Chandon's Grand Vintage Rosé 2006 is a blend of 47% Pinot Noir (23% of which is vinified as red wine), 33% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier. The dosage is Extra Brut, 5g/L, to accompany and carry the aromas without overpowering them.
Moët et Chandon Grand Vintage Rosé 2006 is a ripe, generous champagne. It opens with notes of cookie and gingerbread, then evolves into aromas of cherry, prune and quetsche. These aromas evolve into vegetal notes of rosemary, saffron and dried rose.
The finish is sappy, almost saline.
A powerful, rich and warm cuvée.
