It's a 100% Pinot Noir cuvée, with grapes from 5 parcels of the Aÿ Grand Cru terroir: Cheuzelles, Longchamps, Pruche, Chaffour, and Pierre-Robert. These parcels are planted with 50-year-old vines. These are parcels located in the heart of the Aÿ terroir, where the chalk outcrops force the vines to plunge deep to feed themselves, and thus get the best out of this difficult soil.
It's a fascinating cuvée, combining elegance, freshness, depth and complexity.
Cuvée Noces de Craie 2012 was aged on lees for 48 months, then disgorged in April 2016. The dosage is extra-brut (5g/l).this cuvée has a fantastic color, with gold and copper highlights.
The nose is intense, very complex, with the freshness of chalk, its minerality, but also all the power and structure of Pinot Noir.
On the palate, the attack is full of freshness and liveliness, underlining the beautiful fruity aromas.
