Since the 2018 vintage, Emmanuel Lassaigne has been offering a coteau champenois rouge, a red wine made from aptère Pinot Noir grapes.
This cuvée, like the rest of his range, is made from the terroir of Montgueux, nicknamed the Montrachet of Champagne. It's a small hillock rising to 270m, with unique limestone soils.
On these hillsides, Emmanuel Lassaigne obtains Pinots Noirs of rare finesse and elegance.
Chères Vignes 2018 is vinified and aged in oak barrels, then after bottling, this Coteau champenois spent 2 years in the house cellars.
This 2018 vintage offers a fresh, fruity nose, then develops lovely red fruit notes on the palate. Minerality is present throughout the tasting. A very fine red wine.
