Pierre Larmandier's Cuvée Vieille Vigne du Levant 2008 is a powerful, mineral Champagne, driven by a magnificent vintage.
This champagne is made from old Chardonnay vines located on the southeastern slope of the Cramant hillside. These vines benefit from the first rays of sunshine, producing particularly rich, ripe grapes.
These old vines are deeply rooted, giving the wine great complexity.
Cuvée Vieille Vigne de Levant 2008 is vinified in wood. Malolactic fermentation is triggered spontaneously.
This cuvée is aged on its natural lees for the first year, with light stirring, without filtration or fining. It is then aged for 7 to 8 years in the house cellars.
Each bottle is then hand-disgorged 6 months before release, and dosed with extra-brut (2g/l). A very light dosage to better appreciate the balance and length of this wine.
