Description

Cuvée Vieilles Vignes du Levant 2007 highlights an exceptional terroir that produces grapes of exceptional ripeness.

Formerly known as Vieilles Vignes de Cramant, this cuvée is made from Chardonnays aged between 52 and 80 years. The vines are located on the Grand Cru terroir of the village of Cramant. Since the creation of this cuvée in 1988, Pierre and Sophie Larmandier have spent a lot of time explaining the difference between "Cramant" and "Crémant". To avoid confusion in the future, they have decided to change the name of their cuvée from Vieilles Vignes de Cramant to Vieilles Vignes du Levant.

The locality where this famous vineyard is located is nicknamed "Bourron du Levant", levant meaning east. This vineyard faces due east, so it benefits from the first rays of the morning sun.

The east-facing side of Cramant produces particularly rich, powerful grapes.

The dosage of this Extra Brut cuvée is of the order of 2g/l, to better appreciate the balance and great length of this cuvée.
