2004 was marked by a mild winter, a cool spring and finally a hot, dry summer. The rainy month of August boosted grape growth, which had slowed due to lack of water, and a sunny September put the finishing touches to a harvest of magnificent ripeness.
La Noble Cuvée combines Champagne's greatest Grand Cru terroirs: Avize, Cramant, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger for the Côte des Blancs, and Bouzy and Verzenay for the Montagne de Reims.
This cuvée is vinified in vats, with no malolactic fermentation to ensure maximum freshness and vivacity, as well as great ageing potential. The wine is dosed Brut to bring out its fine balance.
Noble Cuvée 2004 is pale gold in color, with fine bubbles.
The nose reveals lovely notes of candied citrus fruit, white flowers and a touch of minerality.
On the palate, the attack is lively and dense. Complex flavors of citrus fruit, pear, spices and honey, with an elegant mineral framework.
