Lanson's Extra Age Rosé is a generous, rich champagne with notes of red fruit. A perfect accompaniment to white meats or desserts.
Cuvée Extra Age Rosé combines the finest Champagne terroirs. Avize, Cramant, Le Mesnil sur Oger and Chouilly for the Côte des Blancs, and Bouzy and Verzenay for the Montagne de Reims.
The very concept of the Extra Age cuvée is based on the blending of several harvest years meticulously selected by the Cellar Master for their aromatic qualities, but also their complementarity. At present, the 2004, 2005 and 2006 vintages are blended together.
Lanson is one of the few houses not to carry out malolactic fermentation, in order to give its wines maximum freshness and vivacity, as well as great ageing potential.
The dosage is crude, at around 8g/l, to provide a fine balance.
Cuvée Extra Age Rosé has a coppery color with fine bubbles.
The nose reveals notes of ripe red fruit, jam and confectionery.
On the palate, the attack is lively and delicious, with lovely aromas of wild strawberry, redcurrant and vine peach.
The finish is precise, delicate and fruity.
