Krug 2000 is rich, precise, complex and generous. It is one of the most intense and balanced Krug Vintages ever created.
Each Krug Vintage is unique because, for the House, each one reveals the expression of a particular year, which Krug takes in a very personal way.
To tell the story of the year 2000, Krug has assembled wines of the year from different parcels.
Krug 2000 is a dialogue between a powerful Pinot Noir and an aromatic, expressive Chardonnay, in equal proportions, with a final touch of generous Meunier.
Krug 2000 offers extraordinary finesse thanks to over ten years' rest in the cellar.
This champagne has an intense golden color, with hints of the year 2000.
On the nose, Krug 2000 offers aromas of caramel, nougat, hazelnut and freshly baked pastries.
On the palate, it reveals notes of citrus and fruit gratins, lime zest and a very long, persistent finish.
Krug 2000 goes well with caramelized escalopes with pineapple, spicy and complex sauces, squab, vegetable or citrus confits, sweet and sour sauces and even spices. This cuvée will also enhance desserts with roasted fruit (bananas, peaches, citrus).
