Unveiled after 14 years of cellaring, this charismatic champagne comes after Krug 2003 to reveal unsuspected aromas from 2002.
This vintage brought together all the ideal conditions for champagne production. In 2002, the dry, generous, mild and constant climate enabled an excellent harvest, resulting in highly expressive, elegant, well-balanced wines marked by ample fruit.
The color is a sparkling golden yellow.
The fresh, elegant nose opens with pleasant citrus notes, supported by spicy licorice and chocolate cookie aromas.
On the palate, fruit fragrances dominate. A true alliance of white fruit, red fruit and citrus, the palette of aromas expands to deliver gourmand notes of cocoa and honey, with a hint of empyreumatic smoke in the background.
Like all Krug champagnes, this vintage has excellent ageing potential.
