In the best years, Jacquesson blends some of its best Grands Crus foudres, sometimes with the finest plots from its Dizy Premier Cru estate, to create a cuvée that perfectly represents the year's harvest.
For the most remarkable vintages, Jacquesson leaves a few bottles in its cellars for a further ten years.
A total of 5,050 bottles and 190 magnums have aged at Jacquesson and have only been available for tasting since September 2018.
These bottles were tasted in December 2017.
2002 was a very dry and hot year, with little rainfall, so the bunches lost weight and concentrated the aromas in a way that is rare in Champagne. The result was a superb vintage, with a balance close to that of 1976.
