In the best years, Maison Jacquesson blends some of its best Grands Crus foudres, sometimes adding the finest plots from its Dizy Premier Cru estate, to create a cuvée that perfectly represents the year's harvest.
For the most remarkable vintages, Jacquesson leaves a few bottles in its cellars for a further ten years.
A total of 1,460 bottles have aged at Jacquesson and have only been available for tasting since September 2016.
These bottles were tasted in January 2016.
The year 2000 was marked by the highest average temperature since 1956. July and August were rather cold and very stormy, but the weather became fine again at the end of August. The harvest was homogeneous, healthy and ripe.
