Description

Each year, Jacquesson produces a new iteration of its 7XX cuvée. A unique way of marrying the identity of a vintage with the style of the Jacquesson terroir.

Cuvée 742 was born in 2014, a year marked by a rainy, mild winter, followed by a warm, dry spring. In September, the sunny weather made for a fine harvest. The Chardonnays were superb, as were the Meuniers and especially the Pinot Noirs. As usual, this harvest is complemented by a few reserve wines.

Cuvée 742 reflects the Jacquesson vineyards (terroirs of Aÿ, Dizy, Hautvillers, Avize and Oiry). It is a blend of 41% Chardonnay, and 59% Pinots (2/3 Pinot Noir and 1/3 Pinot Meunier). Cuvée 742 is vinified in old foudres and some demi-muids, with periods of batonnage. Malolactic fermentation is carried out, and the dosage is Extra Brut (1.5g/l).

Cuvée 742 Jacquesson has an already open nose, evoking ripe fruit and pastry notes.

On the palate, it's taut and mineral, with a lovely mouthfeel.

222,044 bottles, 9,902 magnums and 300 jeroboams of Cuvée 742 were produced.
