Jacquesson's Cuvée 736 Dégorgement Tardif is a new interpretation of this cuvée.
In contrast to the non-vintage Brut produced by most champagne houses, whose aim is to have a taste and style of the most perfect regularity, the concept behind Cuvée 700 is to reflect the character of the main year of the blend.
Cuvée 736, for example, is based on the 2008 harvest. A year that offered Champagne one of the finest vintages of recent years. 2008 began with a cool, rainy spring, with numerous frosts, followed by a drier, cooler and windier summer. September remained cool, but not very sunny.
The blend is based on 53% Chardonnay, 29% Pinot Noir and 18% Pinot Meunier.
All cuvées 700 are made from grapes from 3 Grands Crus and 2 Premiers Crus, and only the first press juices, vinified in foudres, are used.
Cuvée 736 Dégorgement Tardif Jacquesson aged 88 months on lees, before being disgorged in November 2016. 20,000 bottles and 1,000 magnums were produced.
