Cuvée 733 Dégorgement Tardif Jacquesson is the first cuvée in the 700 range to undergo extended aging.
In contrast to the non-vintage Brut produced by most champagne houses, whose aim is to have a taste and style of the most perfect regularity, the concept of the Cuvée 700 is to reflect the character of the main year of the blend. Cuvée 733, for example, is based on the 2005 harvest. All Cuvées 700 are made from grapes from 3 Grands Crus and 2 Premiers Crus, and only the first press juices, vinified in foudres, are used. As a result, Cuvées 700 are great Champagne wines with remarkable ageing potential.
From Cuvée 733 onwards, Jacquesson has decided to stop selling the wines before the stock is exhausted, in order to extend the maturation period in the cellars of 15,000 to 20,000 bottles for a further 5 years.
Cuvée 733 Dégorgement Tardif was thus disgorged in September 2013, and then waited a further 12 months in the house cellars before being offered for tasting.
