      Jacquesson

      Cuvée 736 | Bottle 75cl

The House of Jacquesson has a unique vision of champagne-making. It's a vision based on optimal knowledge of the terroir, a clear mastery of blending and winemaking, and a taste for patience. The style of the house's non-vintage Brut evolves each year according to the harvest. We maintain a framework and adjust it according to the year's harvest, rather than the other way around. That's why each new harvest gives rise to a new brut. This is how the 2008 harvest gave birth to Cuvée 736, just as the 2007 harvest had produced Cuvée 735.

      Description

The House of Jacquesson has a unique vision of champagne-making. It's a vision based on optimal knowledge of the terroir, a clear mastery of blending and winemaking, and a taste for patience. The style of the house's non-vintage Brut evolves each year according to the harvest. We maintain a framework and adjust it according to the year's harvest, rather than the other way around. That's why each new harvest gives rise to a new brut. This is how the 2008 harvest gave birth to Cuvée 736, just as the 2007 harvest had produced Cuvée 735.

2008 offered Champagne one of the finest vintages in recent years. 2008 began with a cool, rainy spring, with numerous frosts, followed by a drier, cooler and windier summer. September remained cool, but not very sunny.

As in 2002, there was a relative lack of hot days throughout the vegetative period, but this did not prevent the grapes from ripening in excellent conditions.

The 2008 is one of the greatest wines produced by the current generation. Power, complexity, substance and minerality are all present in this extraordinary vintage.

After tasting the vins clairs, the blend for Cuvée 736 was decided: 53% Chardonnay (slightly more than Cuvée 735), 29% Pinot Noir and 18% Pinot Meunier. The 2008 harvest is complemented by the 2006 and 2007 harvests.

This cuvée offers a superb nose of fruit and ripeness, then evolves towards rounder aromas. On the palate, the balance of liveliness and structure is remarkable. On the palate, this is a remarkable champagne, silky and fine. Freshness is present, then expressiveness and power take center stage.

252,992 bottles, 9,432 magnums and 346 jeroboams of Cuvée 736 were produced.
