The Cuve 38 cuvée of Henriot champagne, presented in a magnum, is much more than just a champagne; it is a work of vinous art. With its unique history and aromatic richness, it stands out as a perfect choice for celebrating great moments.
This cuvée was born in 1990 from the visionary inspiration of Joseph Henriot. That year, he decided to isolate a blend of Chardonnays from the four historic Grand Cru villages of the house located on the Côte des Blancs: Oger, Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, and Chouilly. These wines were stored in a unique vat, a vat bearing the number 38.
From there, during each harvest, wines from the same villages are added to the vat. The first release of this perpetual reserve took place in 2009, with a wine blending harvests from 1990 to 2007. This third edition of Cuve 38 was released in 2011, combining harvests from 1990 to 2009.
The Henriot Cuve 38 is a true memory of the house's savoir-faire and the Grand Cru terroirs of the Côte des Blancs. Time is added to time to form a masterful work perpetually reworked, enriched, and extended.
The color of the Cuve 38 cuvée is a brilliant gold with golden reflections, traversed by fine and dancing bubbles.
On the nose, this champagne reveals astonishing aromatic complexity. Buttery notes and a touch of white flowers stand out. Then, on the second nose, more indulgent pastry aromas.
In the mouth, Cuve 38 is a model of balance and refinement. The freshness of recent harvests harmoniously marries with the depth of older wines. It is a champagne with a fascinating balance. The cuvée reveals notes of candied citrus, ripe yellow fruits, and then evocations of honey and vanilla.
The price of the magnum of Henriot Cuve 38 cuvée is 595,95 €. A price that takes into account the rarity of this cuvée – only 1000 magnums are produced each year – and the exceptional quality of the champagne.
Champagne enthusiasts regularly praise the Henriot Cuve 38 cuvée for its finesse and complexity. On Plus-de-bulles.com, customers are unanimous: this champagne is a masterpiece. They particularly appreciate its balance between freshness and maturity, as well as the length of its finish. For more reviews, consult the section Reviews of Henriot Cuve 38 Cuvée.
