Grand Cru Mailly-Champagne from the house of Francis Boulard is made from grapes grown on the chalky terroirs of Mailly-Champagne, in the Montagne de Reims area.
Classified Grand Cru, the highest possible classification in Champagne, these vineyards produce the Pinot Noir (90%) and Chardonnay (10%) which make up this Grand Cru Mailly-Champagne.
This champagne is partly vinified in small oak casks, and in vats, in order to obtain a light oakiness and sensual aromas.
Tasting
By Patrick BorrasThe Francis Boulard Grand Cru Mailly-Champagne has a lovely gold on gold robe and fine, delicate bubbles.
The aromas of this Grand Cru Mailly-Champagne are rich and complex, with fresh mineral notes punctuated with brioche and honey.
The attack is fresh, with the palate revealing a champagne which is rich and mineral with good balance.
Grand Cru Mailly-Champagne is a champagne of great quality, delicate and refined, which may be appreciated as an aperitif, but is also good with desserts. Serve at around 9°C.
