Millésime 2005 from the Fabrice Pouillon champagne house is a Blanc de Blancs which puts the spotlight on a vintage defined by finesse and amplitude.
Made exclusively from Chardonnay Grand Cru – the highest level in the Champagne Crus – 25% of this cuvee was vinified in oak barrels, with the remainder in stainless steel vats, before being blended to create this superb Millésime 2005.
With its deliciously floral aromas, it is a champagne which will excel as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to food.
Tasting
By Patrick BorrasMillésime 2005 by Fabrice Pouillon offers a fine pale yellow robe with greenish tints and a discreet effervescence of fine but regular bubbles.
The nose is complex, embracing pronounced aromas of white flowers and white-fleshed fruits such as vine peaches, and the aromatic palette is completed by interspersed citrus notes.
Fabrice Pouillon Millésime 2005 opens with freshness and good intensity. Notes of fruit at full maturity with touches of cooked fruit add richness and suavity to the palate, balanced by the ever-present freshness.
This Millésime 2005 is perfect with fruit desserts, and will be best appreciated at a temperature of between 8° and 9°C.
