This year, unclassifiable artist Jeff Koons brings his vision of the world and of art to Dom Pérignon, with whom he shares the same ongoing quest for excellence.
In June 2013, the artist revealed an incredible work: the Balloon Venus for Dom Pérignon. A work that symbolizes the continuity of creative energy and the rebirth of the creative act.
The Balloon Venus is a sculpture composed of balloon-shaped volumes with a pink-tinted metal appearance. Inside, it contains a suede insert for a bottle of Rosé Vintage 2003.
The result is a limited edition of Dom Pérignon Vintage Rosé 2003, a collector's edition that reinterprets the artist's codes and the codes of the inimitable Dom Pérignon bottle.
The box was designed for both Dom Pérignon Vintage 2004 and Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2003. It reproduces the Balloon Venus, whose color echoes that of the champagne: yellow for the 2004 vintage and rosé for the 2003 vintage. The liner plate matches the color of the box.
Vintage Rosé 2003 Dom Pérignon is a remarkable vintage in more ways than one. 2003 was a very complex year, marked by extremes: severe frosts in spring, followed by a heatwave in summer. The result was a harvest of low quantity, but rare quality and ripeness.
On the nose, Vintage Rosé 2003 Dom Pérignon reveals complex notes of fig and wild strawberry. It's a complex cuvée which then evolves, on the second nose, towards spicier aromas of violets and vanilla.
On the palate, this is an extremely concentrated champagne with a silky texture. As the tasting progresses, we discover deep notes of spice carried by a mineral touch and a beautiful iodine presence.
