Description

An exceptional cuvée, Dom Pérignon Œnothèque 1993 is the ultimate expression of a wine whose style defies time. Perpetuating the philosophy of Pierre Pérignon, the spiritual father of champagne, who, when he took up his post as procurator at the Abbaye Bénédictine de Hautvillers in 1668, had the avowed aim of making the best wine in the world.

Nearly 350 years later, the House of Dom Pérignon perpetuates this visionary approach to true luxury: the constant reinvention of the exceptional.

It's this spirit that inspires Richard Geoffroy, Dom Pérignon's Chef de Cave, when he creates a new Vintage Dom Pérignon. In his own words, "grapes are never the same from one year to the next. If a harvest doesn't meet Dom Pérignon's criteria, there won't be a vintage that year. This is not a value judgment, but an aesthetic vision".

Dom Pérignon Œnothèque 1993 opens with very light notes of dried herbs before arriving at aromas of candied grapefruit and cinnamon.

The nose is completed by cookie and dried fruit aromas.

On the palate, the sensations are powerful, precise and voluptuous. The initial density becomes fuller and creamier, then the finish stretches out with finesse, ending on a note reminiscent of sap.
