Description
Cuvée La Croix Joly is made from old Pinot Meunier vines exposed to the setting sun on the Troissy terroir. The soil of this parcel is composed of clay with very little limestone.
This parcel is regularly used to produce red Champagne, but for this 2006 vintage, Jérôme Dehours chose to produce a parcel-based Champagne.
La Croix Joly 2009 has a golden color with coppery highlights. Its bubbles are fine and sparse.
On the nose, we discover a mature, gourmand champagne with notes of ripe wheat and fruit. On the second nose, notes of honey and pastry emerge.
On the palate, Cuvée La Croix Joly 2009 offers a fine balance of freshness, minerality and power, all supported by an unctuous texture.
The finish is very fine, lasting for long seconds, with the bitterness that is the signature of this parcel-based cuvée.
