Description
Maison De Venoge's Grand Vin des Princes 2014 is a Blanc de Blancs champagne made with Chardonnay from only Premiers and Grands Crus with Le-Mesnil-sur-Oger, Trépail and Vertus.
This cuvée was created for the Princes of Orange, and was not marketed to the general public until 1864.
Since 1961, Grand Vin des Princes has been housed in a special carafe-shaped bottle, to recall the habits of the great European aristocracy, who decanted champagne into crystal flasks.
Grand Vin des Princes is still served on princely tables, such as at the court of Japan's Emperor Akihito.
This cuvée has a brilliant golden color.
The nose reveals superb aromas of brioche and stewed fruit.
On the palate, the wine is rich and full-bodied, with a structure and elegance worthy of great wines.
