This cuvée is made exclusively from Chardonnay from the lieu-dit "La Pierre aux Larrons," planted in 1948 by Henri Coutier. The plot is located on soil composed of fine loam over soft limestone (white chalk), which offers remarkable minerality. Vinification in 228-liter oak barrels for one year adds depth and complexity. Bottled in April 2018, the wine benefited from a long maturation period on lees of at least 6 years, revealing intense aromas and a silky texture. With a precise dosage of 2.5 g/l, this Extra-Brut cuvée captures the full essence of the 2016 vintage.
The year 2016 in Champagne was marked by contrasting climatic conditions, but it allowed the vines to produce grapes of exceptional quality. In Ambonnay, this vintage revealed all the power and aromatic richness of Chardonnay, giving birth to wines of great intensity and exceptional complexity.
