Vendange Egrappée 2017 | Bottle 75cl
Largillier is a family monopole worked by Jérôme Coessens. The particularity of this parcel is that it alternates between clay (which provides structure and substance on the palate) and limestone, where the roots of the vines draw their minerality. This low-fertility soil gives the vines low growth and vigor, favoring excellent ripening of the grapes, which hold all the promise of a great wine.

When the grapes are at their peak, Jérôme Coessens produces two red Coteaux Champenois. One is made from whole grapes, the other from destemmed grapes.
The latter is the result of a 15-day maceration of destemmed grapes. The wine was then aged in 228-liter oak barrels for 33 months.
Jérôme Coessens' Vendange Egrappée 2017 offers a nose of peony and black berry notes.
On the palate, it's a red wine with a rich, full attack and a silky structure. Notes of red fruit (raspberry, strawberry, black cherry...). The finish is superb, with notes of licorice and silky, slightly smoky tannins.
A rare wine, only 571 bottles were ever produced.
