How Champagne Chouilly Sorangeon 2019 is made

This parcel-based Champagne comes exclusively from the Sorangeon vineyard, located on the Grand Cru terroir of Chouilly in the Côte des Blancs. The chalky, ideally exposed soil gives the Chardonnay remarkable tension and beautiful aromatic richness. The 2019 harvest enabled optimum ripeness of the grapes, while preserving their freshness.

Vinified with great precision, this cuvée is made exclusively from Chardonnay, with no dosage (Brut Nature) to authentically express the purity of the terroir. Long ageing on the lees, combined with meticulous cellar work, reveal a deep, chiselled structure.

The 2019 vintage

The year 2019 in Champagne was marked by contrasting climatic conditions: after a cool spring, the summer saw periods of intense heat. Thanks to a perfectly controlled harvest, the grapes harvested in the Sorangeon lieu-dit showed excellent ripeness, high aromatic concentration and balanced acidity. This vintage stands out for its frankness, its tension and its ability to reveal the identity of its terroirs.

  Cuvée Chouilly Sorangeon 2019 is a luminous light yellow with subtle green highlights.

• Nose

  The bouquet is floral, sunny and exotic. It blends woody, vanilla notes, followed by deeper aromas of root, tobacco and candied citrus.

• Palate

  On the palate, this champagne reveals a broad, vigorous attack. Its pronounced tannic structure blends into a saline, chalky framework. The palate is energetic, with chewiness and a very persistent finish with mineral and zesty accents.
