Bulles de Craie is a Blanc de Blancs champagne of freshness and finesse. An ideal aperitif or seafood accompaniment.
This cuvée is made from Chardonnays from the Grands Cru terroirs of Mesnil sur Oger and Oger, and the Premier Cru terroirs of Vertus and Villeneuve. These villages on the Côte des Blancs have soils where chalk is omnipresent. It outcrops under just a few centimeters of soil, providing the vines with a perfect water reserve, but also requiring them to dive deep to feed themselves.
The proportion of reserve wines is relatively low (around 20%) in order to preserve freshness. The Brut dosage (8g) adds a touch of roundness and delicacy.
Bulles de Craie is a champagne with a seductive, luminous, brilliant golden color.
The nose reveals floral notes and a touch of citrus. It's not until the second nose that brioche notes appear.
On the palate, this champagne has a fresh, lively attack that softens mid-palate, with an aromatic thread of citrus fruit. The finish is sublime, with delicate notes of iodine and limestone.
