Tasting
By Patrick BorrasAdrien Renoir's Extra Brut Grand Cru Verzy has a golden yellow color with brilliant, sparkling reflections, a champagne with fine, delicate bubbles.
The nose is quite complex but very pretty, fruity at first, becoming slightly more floral after aeration. This is a very pleasant champagne, with aromas of very ripe white fruit, white peach and white flowers (lime blossom). There are also hints of dried fruits such as almonds and hazelnuts, and even a few notes of candied orange, with a lovely aromatic intensity.
This champagne is very pleasant on the palate, well-balanced, rich, unctuous and suave, with a lively mid-palate and a delicious, fruity, pastry-like aroma. This 72-month cuvée is very pleasant, the time spent in the cellar giving it a real personality. Gourmand, fresh and intense are the words that best describe it.
This champagne is best served between 8°C and 9°C. I recommend drinking it as an aperitif.
