These champagnes are produced in very limited quantities, only in years that offer climatic conditions close to perfection. A cuvee from the Belle Epoque Collection is the interpretation by Séverine Frerson, cellar master of the house, of an exceptional year. The decision to vintage is made not at the harvest, but a few months later, during the tasting of the clear wines.

Created in 1964, Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque is the very first vintage cuvee from the Belle Epoque Collection. Immediately recognizable around the world, its bottle is decorated with the delicate armful of Japanese anemones designed in 1902 by Emile Gallé, one of the masters of Art Nouveau, for the Maison Perrier-Jouët.
To produce Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque, Séverine Frerson specifically selects Pinot Noir from two crus, Verzy and Mailly Champagne, north of the Montagne de Reims, both characterized by their chalky soils. “The Pinot Noir from Mailly-Champagne have a very specific elegance and finesse that goes perfectly with the Chardonnay, our signature grape variety, from the terroirs of the Côte des Blancs,” she adds. The result is an elegantly structured cuvee with a crystalline floral dimension that perfectly embodies the House's art of blending, in keeping with its style.

True to the spirit of the House, Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Rosé is resolutely original, which makes it a rare wine. Created in 1978, this cuvee is only produced in years when the conditions are the most favorable, and in very limited quantities.
Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Rosé brings together Chardonnay from the best terroirs of Cramant and Avize, and Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims, notably from Mailly-Champagne in the north and from Aÿ and Ambonnay in the south. These last crus are selected for their structure which goes perfectly with the small proportion (11%) of Pinot Noir vinified in red which are added to the blend. These red wines, produced by the maceration of the clear juices of Pinot Noir with their red skin, give Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Rosé its characteristic color. Depending on the year, Séverine Frerson selects them from terroirs located on the Côte des Bar, the Côte des Blancs or the south of the Montagne de Reims, with the aim of minimizing the tannins, and consequently, revealing the floral nuances of this delicious champagne.
100% Chardonnay
Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Blanc de Blancs was made from grapes from the 1993 harvest to accompany the transition to the new millennium, a symbolic moment for this eventful launch. Faithful to the requirements of its founders, the House decides to produce a vintage cuvee only in the years when the best conditions are met. This explains the rarity of champagnes from the Belle Epoque Collection, the rarest of them being Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Blanc de Blancs.
Perrier-Jouët Blanc de Blancs is a 100% Chardonnay cuvee, produced from a maximum of five Grand Crus of the Côte des Blancs: Cramant, Avize and Chouilly, the three pillars of the House, and, in certain years, Oger and Vertus. It is in the village of Cramant that two legendary plots are located – Bouron Leroi and Bouron du Midi – which were among the first acquired by Maison Perrier-Jouët in the middle of the 19th century. Charles Perrier, the son of the founders, took advantage of his vast knowledge in the field of viticulture and the terroirs of Champagne to identify those who were able to offer the most beautiful expression of Chardonnay. The Grand Crus selected for Perrier-Jouët Blanc de Blancs are known for their limestone soils which give this wine its unique minerality.
